River can be resource if managed properly

In decades past, barges would go up and down the Missouri River all the time. It was a common sight, and it made good economic sense for the towns along the river. Now, barge traffic has become increasingly rare.
In late February, news reports appeared saying that the Department of Homeland Security had released hundreds of illegal immigrants from custody. Some of these individuals had criminal backgrounds; others did not. But the common thread was that they had all entered the country illegally.
We all surely have a teacher from our childhood who inspired us to become what we are today. Whether it was because they were able to explain things easily or stayed after school to help us understand a subject, chances are that a teacher had a big influence in your life.

One of the best parts about my job is I am able to help people who are having problems dealing with the federal government. As many of you have discovered, it can be frustrating dealing with a federal agency. Sometimes it seems as if you are the only one who is interested in getting your problem resolved.

Indeed, this year's Boston Marathon – which occurred on a local holiday known as Patriots' Day, commemorating the anniversary of the American Revolution's first battles – witnessed nearly 27,000 runners from 96 countries.
WASHINGTON, D.C.– U.S. Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) received an update on the status of flooding in towns along the Mississippi River during a conference call with local officials, business owners, and farmers today. Representatives from Clark, Lewis, Marion, Ralls, and Pike counties, including Clarksville mayor Jo Anne Smiley, assessed current damage estimates in their regions and discussed their ongoing efforts to shield local communities, businesses, and farmland from additional flooding.
