Several dozen people turned out at St Joe City Hall Wednesday morning, as Northern Missouri Congressman Sam Graves held a hearing on management of the Missouri River as it pertains to small businesses.
Graves says what he heard reinforces his belief that the Corps of Engineers needs to change its priorities.

Congressman Sam Graves came to St. Joseph on Wednesday to listen. Chairman of the House of Representatives' committee on small business, Mr. Graves held a hearing on Missouri River management meeting the needs of small business.
After hearing from four area leaders and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mr. Graves promised to introduce legislation to make flood control the priority among the corps' eight authorized purposes.

RIVERSIDE, Mo. — Congressman Sam Graves said he had yet to hear a convincing reason why Kansas City should build a new single-terminal international airport. After a public forum he hosted Monday afternoon, he still has not heard that reason.
As high school students begin returning to the classroom, many of them will be thinking about their futures. Some that you know may be considering serving our nation in one of the branches of the military.
