117th Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sam Graves joined his colleagues, led by Rep.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sam Graves, (MO-06), Ranking Member for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced that the Grand River Bridge Resiliency Project has received a RAISE Transportation Discretionary Grant. The RAISE Grant program was previously called the BUILD Grant program before being renamed earlier this year. This funding was approved by Congress last year and signed into law by President Trump.
After a couple of contentious weeks in Washington, the House is once again in recess. Given we're in the middle of harvest, that means I've been spending most of my days in the cab of a combine.
WASHINGTON, DC – House Transportation and Infrastructure Ranking Member Sam Graves issued the following statement after his legislation, the Eliminating Barriers to Rural Internet Development Grant Eligibility (E-BRIDGE) Act passed the House of Representatives with strong bipartisan support on Thursday. The E-BRIDGE Act will now head to the Senate for further consideration.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Graves joined 146 of his Republican colleagues in introducing the Illegal Immigrant Payoff Prohibition Act to ban the Biden Administration from making settlement payments to illegal immigrants for claims arising from their illegal entry.
Where does the buck stop?
It ought to stop at the President’s desk. At least that’s the way it used to be. Missouri’s own President Harry S. Truman famously displayed a sign on his desk that proclaimed “I’m from Missouri” on one side and “the buck stops here” on the other. The message was simple—no matter how tough, the decisions made in the White House are made by the President, and the President bears the responsibility for the consequences of those actions.
WASHINGTON, DC – Following the Biden Administration's announcement of sweeping COVID-19 vaccine mandates for American workers and businesses, Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) released the following statement:
Washington, D.C. - Republican Members of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee held a roundtable today with stakeholders from various points in the supply chain.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) joined 43 of his Republican colleagues in writing U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra, and Attorney General Merrick Garland condemning the Administration’s plan to offer $450,000 payments to some illegal immigrants for “lasting psychological drama” they encountered while illegally entering our country.
Rising prices are absolutely out of control. The New York Times is already projecting this will be the most expensive Thanksgiving dinner in American history. The supply chain crisis is sending the price of everything through the roof. We haven’t seen gas prices this high since Barack Obama was President.
