WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Sam Graves issued the following statement after the House passed an extension of federal surface transportation programs through December 18. Graves is the Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, which has jurisdiction over the reauthorization of the federal Highway Bill.
"State and local governments need to be able to plan for highway projects with confidence," Rep. Graves said. "They need certainty not just for the next five or six months, but for the next five or six years."

"I strongly disagree with today's ruling, but it does not change my resolve to fully repeal Obamacare," Rep. Graves said. "The president's health care law has led to higher costs, fewer jobs, and tremendous uncertainty for families and small businesses."
Obamacare has resulted in fewer hours for Missouri workers, forced small businesses to scale back or altogether stop hiring new employers, and raised taxes on industries across the economy.
Any way you slice it, Obamacare is a job-killer. The House continues to work to stop this harmful law, piece by piece and however possible.
