Dear Friend,
70 years after the "end" of the Korean conflict, a historic meeting - the first in history - took place this week in Singapore.
In reality, the war never ended. However, that could soon change.
President Trump and North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-Un came together in a historic summit seeking denuclearization of the communist country.
Dear Friend,
One of my favorite things to do during my time in the district is visit the folks who make North Missouri tick. These are the manufacturers, the small business owners and the community leaders who help their communities thrive. They know exactly what Congress needs to be doing in order for them to succeed. That's why visiting with them is so important. It's not about me telling them what I think they need from Washington or what we've done. It's about me hearing what they need from Washington and then taking that back to the Capitol.

Ever since the 2016 presidential campaign, addressing the nation's infrastructure needs has been at the forefront of discussions in Washington. The issue remains in the public consciousness, and the Trump administration should be credited for taking bold, concrete steps to expedite the completion of critical projects.
Dear Friend, Every two years, Congress takes up legislation designed to improve and enhance river infrastructure throughout the country. The Water Resources Development Act, or WRDA for short, deals with levees, locks, dams, ports, and anything else that might be related to the river. The Army Corps of Engineers is tasked with managing the river and Congress directs what projects they should work on. |

Dear Friend, If the world wasn't paying attention to the United States for the right reasons before, they are now. With the secured release of captives in North Korea, moving the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and the United States' announced exit last week from the Iran Deal, we are finally doing away with the weak-kneed foreign policy of the Obama administration. |

Dear Friend,
The stories of veterans waiting for months to receive health care in 2014 shocked the nation. At least 40 veterans died as a result of long wait times and delayed care at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs system. It was later discovered that those long wait times weren't limited to Phoenix.
Our vets depend on the Veterans Affairs healthcare system to access their medical care. We promised them when they committed to serve that we would take care of them. I believe that we must keep our promise to those who've sacrificed for our country.
