It’s been a difficult week for folks in parts of North Missouri. As most have seen or heard by now, the Amtrak Southwest Chief train was in the middle of its regular cross-country route on Monday, that typically stops in Kansas City and La Plata before heading on to Chicago, when it tragically struck a truck and derailed near Mendon, MO in Chariton County.

Several folks were killed and many more were injured. It was a harrowing day and something that we thankfully aren’t used to. However, folks from around North Missouri rose to the moment and showed who we are.

Nancy Pelosi and her liberal pals voted against banning the EPA from regulating livestock “emissions.” Yes, you read that right. They voted against stopping the EPA from making rules to limit burps and farts from cattle and hogs.

Back in 2019, when the Green New Deal first came out, everyone called me crazy for sounding the alarm that some leftwing extremists in Washington wanted to get rid of airplanes and farting cows. It sounded far-fetched at the time, but now it’s the road they’re all marching down.

When President Biden took office, the average price for a gallon of gas in this country was $2.38. It's $4.98 now. Gas is expected to top $6 per gallon by August.

Inflation was under 2 percent when President Biden walked into the Oval Office. Now, it's over 8 percent. The Administration told us repeatedly last month that the worst was over and rising prices had "peaked." That was a lie. Inflation just hit 8.6 percent—the highest it's been in a generation.
