Graves Announces RAISE Grant for US Highway 69 Safe Streets and Sidewalks Project in Excelsior Springs

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sam Graves, (MO-06), Ranking Member for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced that the US Highway 69 Safe Streets and Sidewalks Project in Excelsior Springs has received a RAISE Transportation Discretionary Grant.

The $21.5 million grant will go towards funding rebuilding approximately 2 miles of streets with curb, gutter, storm drainage, and sidewalks, improvements to 9 intersections, adding approximately 2.3 miles of sidewalks, and approximately 2.5 miles of trail along US-69 to allow students to safely walk and bike to school and increase traffic safety for pedestrians and motorists.

“I’m thrilled to see this project receive funding,” Graves said. “These improvements are going to greatly enhance safety, both motorists and students walking and biking to school in Excelsior Springs. Congratulations to all who put in the effort to get this grant. I know this project has been a long time coming and can’t wait to see these improvements completed.

Graves also announced today that the City of Maryville has received a $5.925 million RAISE grant for the South Main Street Corridor Project.
