WASHINGTON, D.C.– On Thursday, January 23rd, students who participated in the annual Congressional Art Competition gathered at a reception in St. Joseph, where Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) applauded their work. At the gathering, which was held at the Northwest Missouri State University St. Joseph Center, Graves recognized several of the young artists for their work, noting three honorable mentions and announcing the first, second, and third place winners.

Each year, members of Congress are responsible for selecting very highly qualified students to attend one of our nation's five prestigious military academies. Graves said many very qualified students applied for a nomination through his office this year.
