Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Sam Graves, (MO-06), a member of the House Armed Services Committee issued the following statement after the House passed Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (Defense Bill):
"The Defense Bill includes additional funding for upgrades to St. Joseph's Air National Guard's C-130H fleet," said Graves. This modernization effort will ensure the longevity of the C-130H fleet for years to come."
Kansas City, MO – On Thursday, May 10th, students who participated in the annual Congressional Art Competition hosted by Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) gathered at a reception, where the winners for the 6th Congressional District competition were announced. At the gathering, which was held at Graves' district office in Kansas City, several young artists were recognized for their work.

Kansas City, MO – Earlier today, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced that he was appointing 6th Congressional District resident Richard Fordyce of Bethany, MO to serve as Administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA). Fordyce will lead a network of over 2,100 county and 50 state FSA offices. He currently serves as State Executive Director for FSA in Missouri.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following an Inspector General's report that almost 1000 veterans in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas were denied care through the Veterans Choice program due to wait times being incorrectly reported, Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) led a letter calling on the VA Heartland Network - the Veterans Integrated Service Network responsible for veterans health care services in Missouri, Kansas and Illinois - to take corrective action to properly report wait times.

Kansas City, MO – Yesterday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the IRS announced that Missouri had been officially added to the list of states with Qualified Opportunity Zones, a program designed to spur investment in economically distressed communities with tax incentives for investors. The program was created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
Kansas City, MO – Yesterday, Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) held a roundtable with stakeholders to discuss their needs and concerns. The Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) will be considered in the House of Representatives later this year and much of the discussion centered on priorities for the bill both in general and in light of the recent court decision regarding Corps of Engineers' management practices on the river.
