Graves Votes for Annual Defense Bill

December 7, 2021

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) released the following statement after voting in favor of the FY2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The legislation now moves to the Senate for further consideration.

“This is a good bill. It gives our troops a much-deserved pay raise, fully funds our military, prohibits servicemembers from being dishonorably discharged for refusing a COVID-19 vaccine, and finally holds the Biden Administration accountable for their failed withdrawal from Afghanistan. I am proud to support this year’s defense bill and even more proud that it supports the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe.”

An earlier draft of the FY22 NDAA included a “red flag” provision that would have stripped some members of the military of their Second Amendment Rights without due process. Congressman Graves joined dozens of his colleagues in demanding the language be removed from the bill in September. The language was not included in the final bill.
