As this year begins to come to a close, I’m reminded how blessed I am to live in the greatest country in the world and represent the finest area of this country. North Missouri has been my home for my entire life, and I consider it a great honor to serve.

Every year, I get the honor of nominating the best and brightest students from across North Missouri to attend our nation’s military academies. A congressional nomination is one of the chief ways a student can get selected to attend one of these prestigious institutions. Getting there isn’t easy and requires an incredible amount of work.

Last month, local law enforcement in Clinton County reportedly pulled over two Venezuelan nationals during a routine traffic stop. These illegal immigrants were reported to be members of the violent Tren de Aragua gang. The kicker? Local law enforcement was reportedly directed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel to let them go.
