Graves To Hold Town Hall Meeting Tomorrow
Kansas City, MO – U.S. Congressman Sam Graves will be continuing his listening tour with another in a series of town hall meetings, tomorrow, August 26, in Maryville.
These days, it has become clearer than ever that Washington is out of touch with the rest of America. This could not be more evident than with the new Common Core education standards.
With all of the scandals we have seen out of the current White House, it feels more like we are living in 1974 than 2014 in many ways. I can think of no better example of this than the discovery that law-abiding Americans were being targeted by the IRS for their political beliefs. No one—be they conservative, liberal, or any other political affiliation—should be silenced through government agency bullying tactics.

Graves To Hold Town Hall Meetings Next Week
Kansas City, MO – U.S. Congressman Sam Graves will be holding a series of town hall meetings next week, August 18 through August 21, in Bethany, Maysville, Unionville, Kirksville, Canton, Hannibal, and Monroe City.
When Thomas Jefferson wrote our Declaration of Independence he wrote of our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He was talking about freedom. We enjoy freedoms in this country that are found nowhere else on earth. It is important to remember that the freedoms we are so blessed to enjoy are because of the brave men and women in uniform, who defend it every day.
Most people know that when you have dug yourself into a hole, the first thing you do is stop digging. Unfortunately, this kind of common sense has escaped many in Washington. Currently, the federal government owns over a quarter of all land in the United States. This is far more land than it is able to maintain; the National Park Service alone has a maintenance backlog over $12 billion.
Measure Focuses on Maintenance Backlog
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Sam Graves (MO-06) today introduced the No More Land Act aimed at slowing the rate at which the federal is acquiring land.
The federal government owns over a quarter of all United States land. This is more land than it is able to maintain; the National Park Service alone has a maintenance backlog over $12 billion. Yet, the federal government continues to acquire more land at an alarming rate.
A wise person once said, "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result." Well, if you look at the current approach of not enforcing our laws, not securing our borders, and ignoring the will of the people, it is nothing short of insanity. Unfortunately, this is the approach we have come to expect out of the Obama Administration and liberals in Washington.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Sam Graves (MO-06) today welcomed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy to Missouri by introducing H.R. 5034, the Stop the EPA Act. As Administrator McCarthy travels the state this week in an attempt to sell the Administration's radical agenda to farmers and property owners, Congressman Graves has offered comprehensive legislation to protect middle class families and small businesses from an out-of-control and aggressive EPA regulatory agenda.
