The United States Postal Service (USPS) is a lifeline for millions of Americans. It doesn't matter if you live in Kansas City or rural Knox County. We all count on the postal service to deliver our prescriptions, bills, packages, and checks on time.
It's so important that the postal service is the only federal agency specifically authorized by our Constitution. Delivering the mail on time is one of the few things the federal government should do—and should do well. Unfortunately, they aren't—at least not in the Kansas City area.
WASHINGTON, DC - Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (MO-06) today applauded a decision from a federal judge in North Dakota that halted implementation of the Biden Administration’s waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule in 24 states, including Missouri:
We’ve talked at length about the perils of WOTUS. You should know them by now. President Biden’s “waters of the US” rule is going to place much of your land under the purview of the federal government under the guise of “clean water.” However, this isn't actually about clean water. Every little possible dry puddle shouldn’t be subject to the authority of the federal government. It’s bad for farmers, builders, and landowners. That’s the bottom line.

Res. 27) to overturn the Administration’s flawed, burdensome “waters of the United States” (WOTUS) rule. He noted his eagerness for a House vote to override the President’s veto.
Washington, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, upholding Republicans' Commitment to America and to an economy that’s strong.
Washington, D.C. - Today, the Senate voted in favor of Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves’ (MO-06) resolutionto overturn the Biden Administration’s flawed, burdensome “waters of the United States” (WOTUS) rule by a bipartisan vote of 53-43.
Over the last couple of years, it has become increasingly evident that there is an energy crisis. All you have to do is look at your power or gas bill and you’ll quickly realize we’ve got a major problem. Over the last couple of years, energy prices have skyrocketed, and while they may have fluctuated here and there, that’s no consolation for opening a bill that has tripled. Folks across North Missouri are hurting as a result. Something must be done.
Washington, D.C – Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-05) welcomed news from the United States Postal Service (USPS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) that they will commence an audit of delayed mail and delivery operations in the Northland and Kansas City area.
Washington, D.C – Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-05) wrote United States Postmaster General Louis DeJoy requesting the Postmaster General personally host a listening session in Kansas City to hear complaints directly from area residents about the Postal Service’s failure to provide reliable mail delivery six days per week as required by the Postal Service Reform Act and lay out a plan for the agency to address these deficiencies.
National Thank a Farmer Week is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the incredible work that farm families across this country do to keep us fed. That “thank you” should also come with action. We’ve got to have their backs.
That means we need to be working to help farmers succeed, fix the supply chain problems that have sent seed and fertilizer prices through the roof, lower diesel fuel costs, and get the government out of the way so farmers can do what they do best—grow the food that feeds the world.
