Sam Graves Issues Statement as Next Phase of Champ Clark Bridge Project Announced
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Sam Graves issued the following statement after the Missouri Department of Transportation announced today that the Environmental Assessment for the Champ Clark Bridge is complete. The move brings us one step closer to beginning construction for the replacement of Champ Clark Bridge.
"People from both sides of the Mississippi have been working for years to get Champ Clark Bridge replaced," Rep. Graves said. "As one of only three bridges connecting Missouri and Illinois north of St. Louis, it is critical that we secure a safe and reliable alternative to the current bridge as soon as possible. I am pleased to see us get one step closer to that goal today, and I commend everyone involved for their persistence in making it happen.
