Graves Returns Nearly $200,000 to Taxpayers
June 20, 2013
WASHINGTON, D.C.– U.S. Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) announced today that his office is returning $193,763 – or nearly 15 percent of his office's budget – to the Treasury Department for Fiscal Year 2012.
"Washington should lead by example, especially when it comes to reducing spending, and we should all be doing more with less these days," said Congressman Graves. "You can't begin to talk seriously about getting the debt and deficit under control if you don't run your office in a fiscally responsible way. I have ensured that my office is able to return this money to the taxpayers without shortchanging the quality of constituents services North Missourians have come to expect."
