Graves Receives National Small Business Award

May 19, 2014

WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Representative Sam Graves (MO-06), House Small Business Committee Chairman, has been honored with the 2014 Congressional Award by the Small Business Council of America (SBCA).

"The SBCA would like to thank Congressman Graves very much for his leadership on the House Small Business Committee and bringing his practical experience in running a family farm to the issues at hand. We are proud to single him out for his dedication to small businesses," said Al Martin, SBCA President.

"People are surprised to learn that 7 out of 10 new jobs come from small businesses. These companies are the backbone of our economy and the communities they serve. However, businesses and their employees are facing a burdensome tax code and a barrage of regulations making it difficult to create new jobs and economic growth across the country. Small businesses afford us the Missouri way of life, and it's something worth fighting for," said Congressman Graves.

The Small Business Council of America is a national nonprofit organization that has represented the interests of privately-held and family owned businesses on federal tax, health care, and employee benefit matters since 1979.
