Graves Issues Statement on NGA Decision to Keep Facility in Missouri

April 5, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Sam Graves issued the following statement after the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency announced the NGA West Complex will remain in Missouri.

"It is huge for Missouri that the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is going to keep their facility in our state and I am proud to have played a role in making that happen," Graves said. "This decision preserves the jobs of nearly 3,000 Missourians, and ensures the agency's long-standing and successful relationship with our community. Missouri will remain at the forefront of critical intelligence that ensures the safety of Americans."

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In June of last year, Graves, along with the rest of the of the Missouri House Delegation, sent a letter to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Director Robert Cardillo urging the agency to keep the NGA West complex at one of the four sites in Missouri. In the letter, the Members of the Missouri Delegation projected that the new NGA West Complex would not only maintain current jobs, but continue to grow IT and high technology employment in the state.
