Graves Introduces Resolution Honoring America's Teachers

April 17, 2013

Calls on Congress to Recognize National Teacher Appreciation Week

WASHINGTON, D.C.– U.S. Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) today introduced a resolution to recognize the enthusiasm for and commitment of America's teachers during National Teacher Appreciation Week, which occurs May 6th-10th this year. The resolution would honor the "teachers and other education staff [who] have earned and deserve the respect of their students and communities for their selfless dedication to community service and the future of our Nation's children."

"America is home to roughly 3.7 million elementary and secondary teachers who deserve our admiration and appreciation," said Congressman Graves. "We all surely have a teacher from our childhood who inspired us to become what we are today. This resolution is a simple way for the United States Congress to say ‘thank you' for everything teachers do."
