Graves Helps Introduce Bill Blocking Federal Funding for Planned Parenthood

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Sam Graves yesterday helped introduce legislation placing a moratorium on federal funding for Planned Parenthood. H.R. 3134, the Defund Planned Parenthood Act, would block federal funds to any Planned Parenthood affiliate that performs taxpayer-funded abortions.

"Taxpayers should never be forced to fund an abortion against their will or against their conscience," Rep. Graves said. "I have always been a leader in the fight for life; I have introduced bills, sent letters, and voted for legislation all designed to prevent Planned Parenthood or any other abortion provider from receiving federal dollars."

"But after the two gut-wrenching videos of Planned Parenthood executives discussing their tactics were released, it is clear that the organization is much more radical than we ever could have thought," Rep. Graves continued. "The fight against Planned Parenthood and its affiliates will continue until they show they can respect the lives of all people – born or unborn."
