Graves Files Legislation to Block Vaccine Mandate for Healthcare Workers

December 10, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) joined 159 of his colleagues, led by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), to introduce a Congressional Review Act (CRA)resolution yesterday to strike down the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) vaccine mandate rule for healthcare workers.

“Our healthcare heroes showed up to work even in the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Graves. “They put their own lives on the line to save others. The federal government shouldn’t be strong-arming their employers into firing them just because they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine. It’s wrong and I’m going to do everything I can to stop these mandates. Getting a COVID-19 vaccine should be a personal choice.”

Congressman Graves introduced a similar resolution last month to strike down the President’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) vaccine mandate for private sector workers at companies with more than 100 employees. You can read his full statement on that effort here.
