Graves Celebrates National FFA Week

February 24, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) joined Representatives Tracey Mann (R-KS) and Jim Langevin (D-RI) this week to lead a bipartisan group of 77 Members of Congress in introducing H. Res. 150, celebrating the week of February 20 through February 27, 2021, as "National FFA Week."

"As a high school student, FFA provided me with lasting skills in leadership," said Graves. "My story is just one of millions that havebeen positively impacted by the work of FFA. Although the organization has its roots in providing high-quality agricultural education, it has grown into so much more than that. Today, FFA provides valuable lessons in leadership, personal growth, career success, and community service to hundreds of thousands of students from urban and rural communities alike."

Text of the resolution

The National FFA Organization is one of the nation's largest youth organizations, with 760,113 members in chapters in all 50 states. Founded in 1928 as "Future Farmers of America," the organization changed its name in 1988 to the "National FFA Organization" to better reflect their growing mission to provide students with important career and life skills through high-quality agricultural education.
