Stand with Israel

For decades, the Iranian Regime has been the number one supporter of Hamas terrorists. They've supplied these terrorist thugs with millions of dollars, along with weapons and technical support, in their attacks on innocent Israeli civilians.

Despite knowing this, President Biden chose to free up $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds in August as part of a prisoner swap. The Administration claimed these funds could only be used for humanitarian purchases like food and healthcare, but that's not how money works. Giving the Iranian Regime access to any funds allows them to offset what they already spend on those sorts of things and reallocate their own money to support even more terrorism in Israel and around the world.

That's why I joined nearly 100 of my colleagues in calling on President Biden to immediately freeze these funds. We have to stand with our allies in Israel and we cannot afford to help finance Hamas terrorist thugs—directly or indirectly.

After delaying and defending his actions for days, the President finally relented and reached an agreement to temporarily freeze these funds in the wake of Hamas's brutal terror attack on Israel. That's still not enough.

As we speak, Hamas is continuing its attacks, brutally murdering, raping, and kidnapping innocent civilians. Let's be clear, kicking down the doors of people's homes and killing parents in front of their children isn't "resistance" as some on the left have suggested. Neither is using your own women and children as human shields. Hamas is a terrorist organization and there's no doubt about that. These thugs need to be brought to justice.

We need to do more—to support Israel in their fight to protect innocent lives and stop the flow of arms and funding to Hamas. Iran still has access to another $6.7 billion through Special Drawing Rights (SDR) from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). We need to cut off their access to those funds and fully enforce sanctions on Iranian oil exports to China that have gone unenforced for months.

We must fully support our strongest ally in the Middle East. There's no middle ground here and no room for interpretation. America stands with Israel and our actions must speak louder than our words.
