384 days ago, President Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, a 21st century trade deal that puts America first and provides American businesses, American farmers, and American workers with a level playing field. After more than a year of delay, the House finally approved the USMCA and I was proud to support it. It's about time we got this deal done.
After months of partisan bickering and political games, the House finally voted this week to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), fully funding our military and giving our troops the biggest pay raise they've received in the last decade.
We've all been there. The phone rings and it's a number you don't recognize. The odds are good the "person" on the other end of the line wants to update your car warranty, help you get a free vacation or check your credit score.
Other times, it's far more insidious. These unknown callers say they are from the IRS or the Social Security Administration and ask for highly personal information. They sound like they could be legitimate, but they definitely aren't. Unfortunately, many fall prey to these phone scams every day.
Laddonia is just like a lot of towns in North Missouri. It's small with about 500 folks who call it home. It's your average, rural community that's had an unmatched love for family, God, and country since 1872. Unfortunately, like a lot of small towns, they've been handed a laundry-list of regulations to comply with, dreamed up by a bunch of bureaucrats in Washington.
Today is Veteran's Day.
It is on this day that we pause to honor the service, sacrifice, and unwavering courage of America's veterans who have served our Nation in times of war and peace.
Some folks have said I sound a bit like a broken record—that all I ever talk about is flooding, flooding, flooding. There's some truth to that, as many parts of North Missouri have been underwater at one point in time or another this year. There are families in Northwest Missouri that haven't been able to return home for more than 7 months now. There is farmland in Northeast Missouri that's still underwater. Right now, there's nothing more important than helping these folks get back on their feet and helping protect our communities from future flooding.

You may have missed it amidst all the impeachment hoopla, but President Trump secured another trade victory last week.
In a big win for farmers, the United States reached a trade deal with Japan, our third largest agricultural export market. As a result, Japan will reduce tariffs on both fresh and frozen beef and pork. Tariffs will be eliminated or phased out on a multitude of U.S. farm products including several produced in Missouri such as sweet corn, sorghum, ethanol, frozen poultry, processed pork, egg products and wine.
