WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06), Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee helped introduce legislation this week that will help states and local communities – including small and rural communities – address their wastewater infrastructure needs.  The bill improves the wastewater infrastructure permitting process and provides flexibility communities often need to take on complex projects.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), along with U.S. Representatives Sam Graves (Mo.) and Emanuel Cleaver II (Mo.), led a bipartisan, bicameral letter urging the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to quickly and fully utilize the tools and resources Congress provided in the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2020 and the FY2020 Energy and Water appropriations bill to reduce flood risk and improve flood protection along the Lower Missouri River.

“There is simply no reason to rush through this bill. Ninety percent of it has almost nothing to do with COVID. We need targeted relief, but this bill does very little to reopen small businesses and get our children back in the classroom. That’s the key to recovery and that’s what we should be focused on, instead of using COVID as an excuse to fund a bunch of liberal special interest priorities.”
