Graves Leads Opposition to Speaker Pelosi’s $3.5 Trillion Spending Spree in Transportation Committee

Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC – House Transportation and Infrastructure Ranking Member Sam Graves (MO-06) led opposition during today’s markup of Speaker Pelosi’s $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation spending spree.

“This $3.5 trillion spending spree is a slap in the face of the American people. With multiple crises facing America today such as the disaster in Afghanistan and unconstitutional mandates from the Biden Administration, the last thing we should be doing is wasting time deciding how to waste money we don’t have anyway,” said Graves. “This massive tax and spend plan will only fuel further inflation, taxing working class Americans who are struggling to get by right now, and pile on more debt, taxing our kids and grandkids in the future. We don’t need more spending, more taxation, and more inflation. We need to pump the brakes on this reckless spending spree and get back to doing the peoples’ work.”
